Trust Scores recalculate automatically once every 24 hours. This daily cycle picks up new reviews, updated traffic data, and any changes to a site's security features or business information.
Daily recalculation
The system runs a full recalculation for every listed site each day. It pulls the latest data for all four factors - user reviews, security and trust, popularity, and transparency - and produces an updated score.
Most daily changes are small. A single new review or a minor traffic fluctuation moves the score by a point or two at most. You see the updated score the next time you visit a site's profile page.
What triggers larger changes
Several events can cause a noticeable score shift between daily runs:
- A batch of new reviews - if a site receives many reviews in a short period, the user reviews factor adjusts quickly.
- Security feature added or removed - enabling two-factor authentication or dropping buyer protection changes the security factor immediately on the next run.
- Business information updated - a site that publishes its legal name and address gains transparency points.
- Traffic spike or drop - a sudden change in monthly visitors shifts the popularity factor, though the 3-month trend smooths out short bursts.
Quarterly manual checks
In addition to automated daily runs, our team performs manual verification checks every quarter. These checks confirm that listed security features still work, published business details remain accurate, and traffic data matches third-party sources.
If a manual check finds outdated or incorrect information, the site's profile is updated and the next daily recalculation reflects the correction.
Viewing score history
Each site's profile page shows its current score and the date of the last update. Factor-level breakdowns let you see which areas changed. For a full explanation of what each factor measures, see How Trust Scores are calculated.
If you believe a site's score does not reflect recent changes, the update may not have processed yet. Scores always reflect data from the most recent daily run.
