It combines four weighted factors: verified community reviews (40%), security practices like 2FA and SSL (25%), traffic and popularity data from independent sources (20%), and business transparency including company registration and contact details (15%). No site can pay to influence their score.

Scores of 90–100 are rated Excellent (green), meaning the site has strong reviews, solid security, and full transparency. Scores of 75–89 are Good (amber), 50–74 are Average (orange), and 0–49 are Poor (red). We recommend caution with any site scoring below 50 and avoiding sites below 25.

How often are Trust Scores updated?

Trust Scores are recalculated every 24 hours. The algorithm ingests new reviews, checks for security changes, pulls fresh traffic data, and re-evaluates transparency signals. This means rankings always reflect the most current information available.

Can a site pay to improve its Trust Score?

Accepted Answer

No. The Trust Score is entirely algorithmic and based on objective data. While sites can claim their listing and verify business information (which may improve their transparency sub-score), they cannot pay to boost their overall rating. Sponsored listings are always labeled separately and never affect scoring.

How do I write a review?

Navigate to the site you want to review and click "Write a Review." You'll need to sign in with your Steam or Discord account first. Write at least 50 characters, choose a 1–5 star rating, and submit. New users' reviews enter a moderation queue; once approved, your review goes live.

Why are Steam or Discord accounts required?

Requiring verified accounts dramatically reduces unverified reviews. Steam and Discord accounts have real history, game ownership data, and community presence - making it much harder for bad actors to spam ratings. This is how we keep reviews authentic and trustworthy.

What happens if my review is flagged?

Flagged reviews enter our moderation queue for manual inspection. Common reasons include suspected spam, duplicate content, or profanity. A moderator will review and either approve, request edits, or remove it with an explanation. You'll be notified of the outcome.

How do I create an account?

Click "Sign In" in the header and choose either Steam or Discord to authenticate. We don't store your password - authentication is handled securely through OAuth. Your account is created automatically on first login, and you can start reviewing sites immediately.

Can I link both Steam and Discord?

Currently accounts are tied to a single auth provider (the one you signed up with). We're working on the ability to link multiple providers to a single Tested.gg account. This will also let you display badges from both platforms on your profile.

If you've experienced issues or suspect a problem, visit the site's page on Tested.gg and click "Report." Provide as much detail as possible including transaction dates, amounts, and screenshots. Our team investigates every report and may adjust Trust Scores, add safety notices, or remove sites that fail verification.

What does a "Verified" badge mean?

A Verified badge means the site's operator has claimed their listing and confirmed their business identity with Tested.gg - similar to a Google Business Profile. It means we've confirmed who runs the site, not that we endorse it. The Trust Score still reflects actual performance data independently.

What should I do before using a new site?

Always check the site's Trust Score and read recent reviews on Tested.gg. Look for verified badges, check the security sub-score for 2FA and buyer protection, and see if the business is transparent about its registration and contact information. Start with a small transaction to test the site before committing larger amounts.
