Rewards and cashback sites

What rewards platforms are

Rewards platforms are websites that pay you for completing tasks - playing games to a certain level, filling out surveys, watching videos, signing up for services, or referring friends. You earn points or site currency, then cash out via PayPal, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or direct bank transfer.

These platforms operate as middlemen between advertisers and users. An advertiser pays the platform to get people to install a game and reach level 20, for example. The platform passes a portion of that payment to you as a reward.

How they make money

The business model is straightforward: advertisers pay for user actions (installs, signups, engagement), and the platform keeps a cut. This is the same model that powers most free mobile games - except here, you're the one being paid instead of the advertiser.

This means the platform only makes money when you complete offers. If an offer seems too good to be true, it's usually because the advertiser is paying a premium for that specific action.

Types of tasks

Game offers: Install a mobile game and reach a specific milestone (level, power level, headquarters upgrade). These tend to pay the most but require the most time - anywhere from a few hours to several weeks.

Surveys: Answer questions for market research companies. Pay varies from a few cents to a few dollars per survey. Disqualification partway through is common.

Signups and trials: Register for a service or start a free trial. Some require a credit card and auto-renew if not cancelled.

Referral programs: Invite friends and earn a percentage of their earnings. This is how top earners on most platforms make the bulk of their income.

Realistic expectations

Rewards platforms are not a job replacement. Hourly rates for most tasks fall well below minimum wage. Game offers can pay $5–$50 but take days or weeks to complete. Surveys typically pay $0.50–$3 each.

The platforms that pay the most per task usually have the fewest available offers. Availability also depends on your country - advertisers target specific regions.

What to check before you start

Minimum payout threshold: Most platforms require you to earn a minimum amount before you can cash out. Check this number before investing time.

Payment methods: Make sure the platform supports a payment method available in your country.

Offer crediting: Rewards platforms track progress through the advertiser's system. If tracking fails, the completion may not register. Most platforms have a support ticket process for missing credits.

Account limits: Most platforms allow one account per person. Creating multiple accounts to repeat offers results in a permanent ban and forfeited earnings.
